Northwest Carbon Challenge Launched

The Carbon Challenge will support the deployment of low carbon technologies by minimising the risk to investment in new and innovative technologies, processes and approaches by demonstrating and monitoring their effectiveness, providing an incentive for adoption and demonstrating leadership.

Through the Carbon Challenge, the NWDA is making up to £2m available for projects which exemplify our move to a low carbon economy. The Fund will support only the most innovative projects which strengthen the Northwest as a leading region on climate change, delivering carbon savings and economic benefits.

Awards of £100,000 to £500,000 are available to organisations and eligible businesses to contribute to projects which demonstrate new approaches to energy efficiency, renewable energy, low carbon transport and construction, and also to help adapt the region to the challenges ahead.

The competition is being organised by Envirolink NW on behalf of the Northwest Climate Change Partnership. Click here for more information.
