Low Carbon Key to Future Northwest

The transition to a low carbon economy features heavily in the new 'Future North West: Our Shared Priorities'. The development of low carbon energy, carbon reduction and adaptation form the basis of Theme 1 - Low Carbon, Climate Change and Resource Efficiency.

The document has now been published and circulated for comments by 8 October. It builds on the earlier RS2010 work, provides a high-level statement of priorities for the North West and a framework for addressing them.

It has been developed with local authority, business, third sector and wider partners and identifies the key strategic issues on which the North West needs to focus if we are to achieve sustainable economic growth and improved quality of life over the next 20 years. A final version will be published, taking account of feedback, later this year after the outcome of the Comprehensive Spending Review.

Further information and a copies are available on both the 4NW and NWDA websites.
