The Mersey Partnership along with partners and stakeholders in the sub region produces a number of feasibility studies and reports funded by the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and others, to increase capacity in the area on climate change issues. Details of these can be found below:

5. The Economic Impact of EU & UK Climate Change Legislation on Liverpool & the Liverpool City Region
The Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change was published in 2006 by HM Treasury. The Review examined and costed climate change as an economic problem. It concluded that the costs of climate change could amount to around 1% of world GDP, but the costs of not acting could be much higher. This 'Mini-Stern' study for the Liverpool City Region looks at the impact on the area's economy of current and planned legislation and regulations addressing climate change.

The seventh edition of The Mersey Partnership's Economic Review provides a health-check of Liverpool City Region's economy, including an assessment of the effect of the economic downturn on the sub-region. Section 5 outlines Environmental concerns including the climate change challenge.

The 2008 Economic Review highlights areas of success and improvement in the Liverpool City Region as well as those presenting serious challenges. The evidence base includes levels of greenhouse gas emissions and recycling across Merseyside along with other data to help shape strategic priorities and to influence future investment from both the public and private sector.
