Rural Low-Carbon Energy
CLASP has been working with the Lake District National Park and Cumbria Action for Sustainability to develop a pack of resources (both physical and electronic) for use when supporting rural communities with low-carbon energy planning.
This project provided three communities in the National Park with the assistance they needed to help them take ownership of their own energy futures. It provided much needed structured advice and support to overcome the barriers that are stopping activity, enabling community groups to progress from initial ideas, and towards having a clear plan for action, including sourcing for funding to get projects on the ground. Carbon Storage Brokering
A 'Carbon Storage Brokering' study has been commissioned by the Lake District National Park Authority co-funded by CLASP, to explore the potential for a locally branded carbon market.
The overall aim of the project was to appraise options and develop potential business models for a carbon brokerage scheme that incentivises carbon sequestration through land management.
