Action 5.2 - Accelerate activity to reduce the impact of our homes and the way we travel, including: Providing a one-stop-shop of free and impartial advice on household energy efficiency, renewable technologies, greener transport, waste reduction and water conservation to create 'low carbon citizens' who actively choose sustainable energy options through their behaviour and purchasing decisions. Description: The Northwest Climate Change Partnership is supporting the activity of the Energy Saving Trust in the region through;

  • Initial help to establish the three Energy Saving Trust Advice Centres for Greater Manchester, Liverpool & Cheshire, and Lancashire & Cumbria;
  • Providing additional resources for the employment of a dedicated micro-renewables specialist, and a regional travel advisor;
  • Piloting new and innovative approaches to engaging householders on sustainable travel, smarter driving and renewable energy;
  • Ensuring that the Northwest is represented on national field trails for micro-renewables.
